An evaluation camp will be held at O.C.U. on June 7, 2008 at which time
the wrestlers will compete for positions on the #1 and #2 Freestyle
Dual Teams and the Greco Dual Team. A ranking system of national
qualified wrestler will be established based on specific tournament finishes.
The ranking system is to determine the order of matches to be held on
the evaluation day. Any wrestler who has qualified in either Freestyle
or Greco is eligible to participate in this evaluation process.
The evaluation process will be as follows:
The Champion of the Westmoore Qualifying Tournament will be considered
the #1 ranked wrestler.
The Champion of the Union Qualifying Tournament will be considered the
#2 ranked wrestler.
If the same wrestler is Champion at both the Westmoore and Union
Tournaments then the Champion of the Catoosa Tournament (if qualified) will
be the #2 ranked wrestler.Cadet Dual Teams in Freestyle and Greco-Roman.
All other qualified wrestlers can participate in a series of evaluation
matches to compete against the #2 ranked wrestler.
The winner of that process will be able to evaluate against the #1
ranked wrestler, but must defeat him 2 times in order to be considered the
starter for that weight.
The wrestler that has placed at the specific weight will have
precedence. Therefore wrestlers changing weight at the evaluation camp will be
placed in the ranking ladder based on criteria.
All participating wrestlers must be within 5 pounds of the desired
competition weight in order to evaluate for any position on any of the Dual Teams.
The intention of this evaluation process is to encourage ALL wrestlers
to attend as many tournaments as possible and get as much experience as
possible throughout the season. Wins and losses during the season
will not determine the line-ups for the Dual Teams. This evaluation camp
will give every qualified wrestler a chance to compete for a position
on the Dual Teams.
The Freestyle #1 Dual Team will consist of 20 wrestlers (17 +3 alternates).
The Freestyle #2 Dual Team will consist of 20 wrestlers (17 +3 alternates).
The Greco Dual Team will consist of 20 wrestlers (17 +3 alternates).
Initial deposit of $200 is due May 15, 2008. The balance for Dual Team
fees will be due at the registration for the evaluation day. No
refunds will be given to any wrestler that is selected for any Dual Team.
